Your Guide:

Don is a Registered Fishing & Hunting Guide with the Province of Nova Scotia.

He has over 40 years of experience in both fishing & hunting and is very adept at both fly and spin casting.

For fishing, we do practice and encourage “Catch & Release” methods at the Wooden Bear Lodge.

Types of Species
The types of species that you may fish for depending on the time of year are:

• Trout
• Salmon
• Smallmouth Bass
• American Shad
• Stripers

A number of these species can be fished directly from Porters Lake. However, others would require either half or full day fishing excursions.

Deer and Moose Hunting Trips

If hunting is your interest, and you are after a Nova Scotia Whitetail Deer or Moose, then we can make the arrangements and guide you in an exciting hunt that you won’t soon forget!
